Electric unicycle board, cutout and crash repair
A cutout or a hard fall can burn the board, loosen a hall connector and crack a pedal hanger at once. We pick the wheel up, check all of it, replace what failed and bring it back.
Models we see: Begode Master, Extreme, Blitz, EX30; King Song S18, S19, S22; InMotion V11, V12, V13, V14; Veteran Sherman, Patton, Lynx; Extreme Bull Commander; Nosfet Apex.
What it does, what failed, what it costs
| Symptom | Usual cause | What we do | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cut out, and now the wheel is stiff or hard to turn by hand | Shorted MOSFETs on the board — the motor phases are tied together | Board replaced, the motor and hall sensors tested | $199 + board |
| Will not power on after a crash or a cutout, burnt smell | A burnt board, a blown fuse or a pack connector torn loose | Traced on the bench; board, fuse or connector replaced | from $199 |
| "Motor hall error", the wheel jerks or stutters | A hall plug unplugged under power, a pinched lead, or a failed sensor | Leads and connector repaired; hall sensors or the motor replaced if failed | from $199 |
| Squeaking or grinding from the wheel, worse after rain | Motor bearings worn or rusted | Bearings replaced, or the motor if the shaft is worn | $199 + part |
| Pedal wobbles, bent or a crack at the pedal mount | A drop or a cutout landing on the pedal | Pedal hanger or bracket replaced, bolts torqued to spec | from $99 + part |
| Cracked shell, broken trolley handle, smashed light bar | Crash or drop | Shell and hardware replaced; the board and the packs checked for impact damage | from $99 + part |
| Suspension sags, knocks or leaks oil | Worn shock, bushings or linkage bolts | Suspension serviced, shock rebuilt or replaced | from $149 |
| Shut off in the rain or after washing, errors since | Water inside the shell: corrosion on connectors and the board | Opened, dried, cleaned, connectors treated; damaged parts quoted | from $149 |
| App will not connect, odd tilt-back, after a firmware update | Firmware or calibration | Firmware reflashed and the wheel calibrated | from $79 |
Prices are "from", with labor and ordinary parts; "+ part" means the part is extra. We pick the wheel up and bring it back for $145, credited toward the repair. The final price comes after the diagnostic, and nothing is done until you approve it. All prices and the warranty →

What to check after a cutout
A stiff wheel, a burnt smell, a beep that will not stop: how to tell a burnt board from a scare.
What the price includes
- Pickup and return in Southern California, and a written quote before any work.
- After any cutout or crash: the board, the hall sensors, the pedal hangers and the pack connectors all checked, not just the part you noticed.
- Original boards for InMotion, King Song and Begode where available; we tell you the source and the price before ordering.
- A balance test on the stand and a check in the app before the wheel goes back.
- 30-day warranty on our work, 90 days on the parts we fit.
Before we pick it up
- Do not try to power on a wheel that is stiff after a cutout: a shorted board can do more damage.
- Burnt smell or smoke: leave it outside, away from the house, and text us first.
- Bring the broken pieces — a pedal, a light bar, a trolley handle — so we order the right part.
- Ride or leave it at about half charge if it still powers on.
Questions
What does a stiff wheel after a cutout mean?
Usually shorted MOSFETs on the board. When they short, the motor phases are tied together and the motor brakes itself. The board has to be replaced, and the motor and hall sensors tested before the wheel is ridden again.
Why replace the whole board and not one MOSFET?
A cutout often damages more than the parts you can see. Replacing one MOSFET on a 100–176 V board and sending the wheel back is how the next cutout happens. We replace the board with an original one.
How much is a new board?
Our labor is $199. The board itself ranges from about $140 on InMotion V12 and V14 to about $300 on King Song S22 and $450–500 on Begode Master and Extreme, and some are on backorder. We quote the exact part before ordering.
Is a cutout covered by the warranty?
Our warranty covers our work and the parts we fit. A cutout from over-leaning or ignoring tilt-back is riding damage. If the wheel is still under the factory warranty, ask your dealer first — we are an independent shop.
What if it is not worth repairing?
If you say no to the quote, the $145 covers the pickup, the diagnostic and bringing the wheel back, and that is all you pay.
We also repair tires and tubes, batteries and chargers, InMotion, Begode, King Song, Leaperkim Veteran, Extreme Bull and Nosfet and Onewheel with pickup across Southern California.
